All students at Kaiser (ECE-8th grades) are encouraged to check out books every week. Every student has a unique student ID number which is also their library account number. The library system allows for a 2-week check out period. Since most students come into the library weekly for check out, they are encouraged to return books on their (weekly) assigned check-out day and then check out new books. Students are always allowed to renew books as needed.

Lost Books
The DPS district policy requires students who lose or damage school materials to pay for them. Students with lost or damaged library books will not be allowed to check out additional books from this or any other DPS school until payment is made. In general, the cost of a paperback book is $6.00 and the cost of a hardcover book is $15.00, although prices may vary depending on the individual title. Cash or checks payable to Kaiser Elementary are accepted and a receipt for payment will be given to the student.
